Anyone can imagine that two great sons of India, Gurudeva Rabindranath Tagore himself playing the piano and singing a song for another great son of India Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. It is a fact, indeed it happened when Gurudeva Rabindranath Tagore met with Ramakrishna for the first time and it was also their last meeting. It is also true that Gurudeva met with Ramakrishna at least once but never met with Swami Vivekananda in happy ambience, in spite of being born in the same era. I know it has a different dimension of logic but I think when we talk about Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the name of Swami Ji comes automatically. Many people talk about it, even today and some of them try to pull out some negativity in it. But Gurudev answered it and Once he quoted “‘If you want to know India, study Vivekananda. In him, there is everything positive and nothing negative.”
In the year of 1883, 2nd of May there was an occasion of Brahmo Samaj called Brahmo Utsav at the house of Kashiswar Mitra, in north Kolkata. As we all know that Gurudeva was Brahmo and he was an invitee there. Apart from many other eminent guests, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was also invited there. Shri Srinath Mitra and Shri Manjunath Mitra invited them and both of them attended that Brahmo Utsav.
That time Gurudev was only 22 years old. On that day, he played the piano and sang a song for Ramakrishna. The house is still there and located in North Kolkata. The house “Kashiswar Mitra Bari” is well maintained and a private property, so have no idea whether they allow visitors or not. But whenever I visited there I didn’t notice anybody around from the family, however, the house is still in use.

Wow, thanks for sharing. I didn’t know about this!
The house is a private property. The house has a dedicated area designated for visitors. Guests and visitors are allowed to the Bahir Mahal. It houses the temple dedicated to Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Visitors are highly welcome to leave their footprints.
Thank you so much Mr.Mitra for stopping by my blog !! In future I will definitely visit the house and will update the same in my post

Thanks for your valuable input. Soon I will visit.
While visiting, please enquire In which room they met?
I have never entered in that house and I have mentioned the same in my blog post. Few months back, for the second time, I went to this house and someone from the house told me “Not now, please come later”. May be he said so because it’s a private property.
In which room they met? Is it still within 233, A.P.C. Road as described in Kathamrito?
Can the the so-called Ramkrishna Bhakta Parishad, led by some outsiders and/or lately pampered successors of Late Kashiswar Mitra exactly remember the date and/or year of Birth and Death of that Mahan Manush of Bengal at that time.
Why the so-called pampered Ramkrishna Bhakta Parishad, led by some outsiders and/or lately pampered successors of Late Kashiswar Mitra cannot produce a picture of Late Kashiswar Mitra in their site.
Any idea what was the song Tagore played for Sri Ramakrishna?
Very good question Mr.Sudip but sorry, I have no idea about it.
Sree ‘MA’ written a lot of things in Kathamrito about the day’s incidents including heckling Mitra family members for not paying return journey fare to Ramakrishna and others. But he never uttered a single word about the contents of the song, since the same was not matching with their ideology

Who told you Gurudev never met Vivekananda? Have you not heard of Tea party held at Sister Nivedita’s house at Baghbazar? All the aforesaid three stalwarts enjoyed the party for more than one hour. Educate yourself first and then try to comment on such historical matters. And we all know Gurudev never looked at Ramakrishna during the meeting neither he sang the song for him. The event was very important yearly meet of Brahmosamaj. Tagore’s was the song on Brahmoism not on Ramakrishna.
On the context of views, I have mentioned that Vivekananda and Tagore never met because their views were completely opposite. Not only they met once in the tea party organised by Sister but Physically they met many times. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and also for your inputs.
